
Michelle Davidson, Managing Director, Pacific Corporate Group, (PCG)
Michelle Davidson, Managing Director, manages PCG Asset Management’s portfolio management and analytics activities. Ms. Davidson is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and the Investment Committee. Ms. Davidson has 20 years of financial services experience, spending the last 16 years exclusively focused on private equity.
She has returned to PCG Asset Management where she spent six years in the mid-1990s, and was strategically involved with the CalPERS account, helping them build their then brand-new private equity program. Since then, Ms. Davidson has been a consultant at a subsidiary of Deloitte & Touche, and, most recently, spent six years at State Street Corp. where she developed and managed the consulting unit of The PrivateEdge Group, a practice that provides independent, value-added investment consulting services to large institutional investors within the private equity and real estate asset classes. Earlier in her career, Ms. Davidson worked for GMAC Finance Corp., focused on the trading and hedging of mortgage-backed securities, and also worked for a regional accounting firm. Ms. Davidson is a Certified Public Accountant and earned her Business Administration degree from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Finance, where she graduated with Honors.

Joseph Haslip, Executive Director of Pensions, New York City Retirement Systems
Joseph J. Haslip serves as Executive Director of Pension, for The New York City Comptroller, The Honorable William C. Thompson Jr.
Mr. Haslip reports to the Deputy Comptroller for Pensions and serves as Liaison to the New York City Retirement System’.
The Retirement System is composed of the five pension boards which are as follows: The New York City Employee Retirement System, the New York City Teachers Retirement System, the New York City Police Pension Fund, The New York City Fire Pension Fund, as well as The New York City Board of Education Retirement System.
The total assets under management for these systems are approximately $100 Billion.
Recently, at the request of Comptroller Thompson, Joseph is playing a leadership role in working with the Chief Investment Officer and Bureau of Asset Management in developing New York’s approach to increase its exposure with emerging managers, as well as minority and women investment managers.
He has most recently worked with investment staff in developing a Public Markets Emerging/Developing Investment Manager Program which will look to invest an additional $2 Billion with investment firms of $5 Billion or less.
Prior to working with Comptroller Thompson, Joe served as Chief of Staff and Director of Legislation and Policy for State Senator David A. Paterson, who currently serves as Minority Leader of The New York State Senate.
In his home city of New York, he has held several positions of note including board member of The Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone.

Alan Kosan, Managing Director, Co-Head Non-Traditional Investments Group, CRA Rogers Casey
Alan Kosan is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Non-Traditional Investments and Research Team, with primary responsibility for directing the Private Equity, Real Estate, Natural Resources and Infrastructure functions. He is a member of the Fiduciary Investment Review Committee which provides oversight for our fully discretionary relationships, the Product Development Task Force which manages initiatives for internal product development, the Strategic Research Committee and the firm’s Management Committee.
Prior to joining RogersCasey, Alan was Director, Consultant Relations and Institutional Marketing for Henderson Global Investors North America, a multi-asset class investment manager. Some of Alan's responsibilities at Henderson included serving as the lead distribution specialist for the firm's Global Private Equity Fund of Funds in North America, and as an ad-hoc member of its Investment Committee. Before Henderson, Alan was the head of the Alternative Investment portfolios at both the Philip Morris and United Technologies Corporation pension funds. Earlier in his career, Alan served in a variety of management positions with both high technology companies as well as real estate and private investment groups. During his 20 years of alternative investment experience, Alan has served as an institutional limited partner or advisor to limited partners representing in excess of $1.1 billion of committed capital in approximately 100 private equity funds. Alan has also served on a number of private equity and real estate fund Advisory Boards.
Alan graduated with a B.A., summa cum laude with distinction, from Boston University's College of Liberal Arts and a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law. He is a NASD licensed Series 7 and 63 Registered Representative. Alan has served on the Investment Committee of the Greater Hartford YMCA, and currently sits on the United Way of the Capitol Region and Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc. Endowment Investment Committees.

Austin Long, Partner, Alignment Capital
Austin Long has been active in the private markets since 1987, when he co-founded what was to become The University of Texas Investment Management Company's (UTIMCO) private investment group. When he left in 2000, he had grown the UTIMCO private equity program to $2.2 billion in commitments.
Long is a former co-chair of the Institutional Limited Partners Association, a trade group comprised of the largest and most sophisticated institutional investors committed to the industry in the United States. He is a frequent speaker at industry gatherings and is a published author.
Mr. Long received his BA degree from Baylor in 1970, his Masters in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin in 1981 and his JD degree from DePaul University in 1987. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has been admitted to the bars of Illinois and Texas.
Austin Long co-founded Alignment Capital Group in 2001.

William Monagle Jr., Partner, Senior Consultant, New England Pension Consultants
Mr. Monagle joined New England Pension Consultants in 2004 and has twenty-nine years of investment experience. Mr. Monagle heads up NEPC’s private equity research and due diligence activities, in addition to providing consulting services for the non-traditional asset classes of various public, corporate, Taft-Hartley and endowment/foundation clients. Bill is a member of the Alternative Due Diligence Committee.
Prior to joining NEPC, Bill was the Managing Director-Private Equity Research at CRA RogersCasey. At CRA RogersCasey, Bill was responsible for the firm’s private equity research. He developed private equity investment structures for the firm’s clients and was responsible for the firm’s monitoring of approximately 150 private equity funds. Bill authored the firm’s quarterly private equity market reviews and developed the firm’s private equity educational presentation.
Prior to joining CRA RogersCasey, Bill was a Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Hannah Consulting Group, Inc., responsible for alternative and real estate investment strategies. He conducted alternative investment searches, developed an alternative investments database, and monitored ongoing client performance.
Bill has been a frequent speaker at both domestic and international forums for private equity.
Bill graduated with a B.S.B.A. degree from Northeastern University and a M.S. degree in Taxation from Bentley College. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the AICPA and the MSCPA. Bill is currently pursuing the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Brett Nelson, Principal, Head of Global Private Equity, Ennis Knupp & Associates
Brett is a principal and serves as the primary consultant and manages consulting assignments for a select number of EnnisKnupp private equity retainer and project clients. Brett also serves as the leader of the firm’s global private equity research group.
Some of Brett’s recent activities include:
- Assisted a public pension plan client ($11.5 billion total assets, $653 million private equity commitments) with global private equity in managing its in-state and national programs
- Assisted a publicly-traded corporate client ($31 billion in assets) with the analysis and sale of $50 million of its “seasoned primaries” in private equity holdings and commitments into the secondary market
- Assisted an endowment ($2.7 billion total assets) with private equity education, portfolio analysis and design, and partnership sourcing
- Assisted a public pension plan client ($14 billion total assets, $813 million private equity commitments) in performing a detailed review, analysis, and comparison of the valuation techniques utilized by each of the client’s general partner (GP) investments

Matthew O’Reilly, Partner, Aldus Equity
Matthew O’Reilly is a Co-Founder of Aldus Equity and is responsible for fund selection, due diligence, and performance monitoring. Prior to founding Aldus, Mr. O’Reilly served at Holbein Associates as a consultant to clients advising them on their private equity portfolio structure as well as their overall investment strategy. Mr. O’Reilly has more than ten years of private asset management experience. Prior to Holbein, Mr. O’Reilly worked as an Investment Advisor for Metropolitan Life. Mr. O’Reilly earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Mr. O’Reilly is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and has served as a CFA grader.
Rita Sallis, CIO, New York City Retirement Systems
Rita Sallis was named Chief Investment Officer of the City of New York in 2006. She directs the overall investment plans of the City’s five public pension systems with over $105 billion in total assets. She also oversees the treasury, accounting, budget, tax and audit activities of the Bureau of Asset Management and ensures timely financial and statistical reports for management and/or use by each Board of Trustees.
Prior to her CIO appointment, she was Deputy Comptroller for Public Finance for the City of New York and she has 24 years of municipal finance experience. Among her responsibilities was to oversee the multi-billion debt management program for the City and its related financing entities.
Rita was named one of 25 Influential Black Women in Business in 2005 by The Network Journal. She is married, has two daughters and lives in South Orange, New Jersey.

Reginald Sanders, Manager, Pension Investments, Eastman Kodak
Reginald G. Sanders, CFA is a pension investment manager for the Eastman Kodak Company, where he is primarily responsible for managing the alternative asset classes, which includes the portable alpha, absolute return, and illiquid investment programs, for its U.S., U.K., and Canadian pension plans. Prior to Eastman Kodak, Mr. Sanders was an equity research analyst for AEW Capital Management, where he followed the residential, self-storage, and lodging stocks. Mr. Sanders also has prior equity research analyst experience with T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., where he was a small and mid-cap value generalist, as well as with GW&K Investment Management, where he followed the healthcare sector. Additionally, Mr. Sanders was a utilities industry analyst for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.
Mr. Sanders holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Florida A&M University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he was a Robert A. Toigo Fellow.

Reid Smith, Director of Private Equity, Evaluation Associates
As Director, Mr. Smith leads the private markets research team at Evaluation Associates. His responsibilities include meeting, monitoring and assessing managers, directing client searches and making specific investment recommendations to clients. He also directs research on private equity trends and developments and works directly with clients to develop their private markets investment programs.
Prior to joining Evaluation Associates in 2005, Reid served as a consultant to financial services firms on private equity-related business issues, and previously worked at General Atlantic Partners, a global private equity firm, where he was involved in investing across technology sectors.
He earned his BA from Southern Methodist University and holds an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Dory Wiley, Trustee, Chairman, Alternative Assets Committee, Teacher Retirement System of Texas
Dory Wiley is a Principal and President of SAMCO Capital Markets, Inc., an investment banking firm and broker/dealer specializing in financial services. The firm’s capabilities include merger and acquisition advisory, capital raising, stock valuations and fairness opinions, financial and strategic planning, regulatory advisory, and fixed income securities transactions. In addition to investment banking activities, the firm created and manages several Private Equity and Private Investment Funds, of which Mr. Wiley serves as Portfolio Manager. Mr. Wiley is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, a $100 billion pension fund, for which he also serves as Chairman of the Alternative Assets Committee. He additionally serves on the Board and Investment Committee of Independent Bankers Capital Fund.
Prior to joining SAMCO Capital Markets, Mr. Wiley was Vice President and Manager of the Financial Institutions Group at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, now RBC Capital Markets. He has also worked for a financial institution in asset/liability management and investments.
Mr. Wiley often lectures on bank related topics at universities, seminars and conferences. He has testified as an expert witness on bank and securities valuation, has written articles for various banking periodicals and has been quoted extensively in the media. He is a member of the AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, the Dallas Society of Financial Analysts, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the CFA Institute. He also serves on several charitable boards.
Mr. Wiley received a BBA in Finance and Accounting from Texas Tech University, an MBA from Southern Methodist University and holds multiple securities licenses.

Dave Woolford, Managing Director, Capital Dynamics
Dave Woolford is a Managing Director. He chairs the Investment Committee and heads Investment Management North America. Prior to joining Capital Dynamics, Dave was a managing director at Prudential Financial. He has over thirty years experience in investment management and private equity, beginning with The First National Bank of Chicago and First Chicago Investment Advisors (now UBS Brinson). Dave earned graduate degrees in Economics from McMaster University and the University of Chicago, and holds the professional designations of CFA, CLU, and ChFC.

Brad Young, Partner, Head of North America, Altius Associates
Mr. Young has over eleven years of private equity and venture experience. He is currently a Partner and Head of the US Office for Altius Associates Ltd., a global private equity advisory firm with over USD 8 billion under advice and management. Altius has offices in Richmond, VA, London, and Copenhagen. Mr. Young is a Director of Altius Associates and a member of its investment committee. Prior to joining Altius Associates, Mr. Young was a Director of Private Equity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At MIT, he was one of a three-member team that managed a multi-billion dollar global private equity fund portfolio and had investment responsibilities that included Europe, Israel, Asia and South America. Prior to joining MIT, Mr. Young was the Director of Private Equity at the University of Richmond Endowment where he managed a $300 million private equity portfolio. Mr. Young sits (or has been on) advisory boards for life science and technology ventures and US and European buyout funds. Prior to the University of Richmond Mr. Young was with SunTrust Bank.
